Mentha Oil
futures rose in the domestic market on Monday as investors and
speculators booked
fresh positions in the agri-commodity amid a
pickup in physical demand for Mentha oil in the
domestic spot
market.Pick-up in demand for Mentha oil from major consuming
industries and
reduced supplies of the agri-commodity from the major
producing regions boosted sentiment.
At
the MCX, Mentha Oil futures for February 2015 contract closed at Rs
754.40 per 1 kg, up by 0.48
percent after opening at Rs 754, against
the previous closing price of Rs 750.80. It touched the
intra-day
high of Rs 758 till the closing.
Castor Seed
prices rose by 0.19 percent on Monday at the National Commodity &
Derivatives
Exchange Limited (NCDEX) as a result of fresh demand of
the commodity in the major mandies.
At
the NCDEX chana (castor seed) futures for February 2015 contract was
trading at Rs. 3,620 per
quintal tonnes, up by 0.19 percent, after
opening at Rs. 3,781 against the previous closing price
of Rs.
3,736. It touched the intra-day low of Rs. 3,620 till the trading.
