CASTOR SEED
Castorseed prices fell by 2.54 percent on Monday at the
National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX)
as a
result of fresh supply of the commodity in the major mandies as well as
strong production estimates. At the NCDEX, castor seed futures for
January 2015 contract was trading at Rs. 4,575 per quintal tonnes, down
by 2.54 per cent, after opening at Rs. 4,638 against the previous
closing price of Rs. 4,694. It touched the intra-day low of Rs. 4,550
till the trading.
CHANA
Chana prices closed lower by 1.18 per cent on Friday at the National
Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) as a result of the
steady sowing progress of pulses along with high supplies in major producing states. At the NCDEX, chana futures for January 2015 contract closed at Rs. 3,431 per quintal, down by 1.18 percent, after opening at Rs. 3,445 against the previous closing price of Rs. 3,472. It touched the intra-day low of Rs. 3,409. India produces around 6 to 8 million tonnes and contributes around 70 percent of the total world production.
